We purchase our house and 10 acres just south of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, but had to move to a new duty station shortly after and therefore no farm progress would be made. But, we are making progress since we have some land!

We build our lambing barn, add 22,000 feet of fencing and cross fencing to move towards rotational grazing, and water lines to each paddock! The Army moves Travis to a new duty station leaving Chrissy to handle all farm chores, take care of kids, and still works a full time job. Travis is able to help Chrissy and come home most weekends but not all weekends for the next three years.

The first lambing season in the new barn was very successful, Chrissy enrolls in college to attain her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education to become a teacher, adding one more task to her plate along with taking care of the farm, their kids, and working full time as a Para-professional at a local school. Travis and Chrissy have adjusted to being apart but are hopeful his next duty station will bring him back to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They keep praying…

Chrissy graduates with her bachelors Degree  in Early Childhood Education in August! It took her about a year and a half to do this while caring for the farm mostly on her own, caring for their kids, and even working full time as the Preschool Director at a local school! The only real progress on their farm was a successful lambing season and they sprayed all 77 acres for Sericea Lespedeza for this year.  No real changes have happened as Travis and Chrissy are still awaiting the Army’s decision on where his next duty station will be, which in turn does start to hinder the farms progress with all the unknown in the future. Prayers continue, the farm still produces lambs, and hay though!

Travis, Chrissy, Cheyenne, and Gages prayers are answered! The Army informed Travis that he will return to Fort Leonard Wood in July of 2023! More to follow on what happens this year.
